Sports are also important - US high school spend a million dollars to build such. One per county enough to hold county events is not so bad. Also in place like Kenya where there are no parks - they should be open for public to go swim, run, and do other sporting activities. They also become good places to hold concerts, graduation ceremonies, and church rallies. Of course political rallies, national celebrations, and the whoel Shebang.
As long as they are 10-15k capacity - I dont see it as problem.
We have big problem in kenya because most youths resort to miraa and alcohol - without sporting activities to keep their energies occupied.
Counties should aim to run a football/volley/netball league - to keep people engaged after work - so Kiambu can have their own mini-league - funded by county - where every ward has football team - 25 wards - playing every week against each other. So monday to friday - kids are practising. CDF should fund mini leagues in their sub counties.
The money should come from all the sporting betting companies.....they should fund sport activities. That will keep many young idle folks engaged
Why are people hung up on stupid stadiums instead of more important things like food, water, electricity and jobs?
