This is good. We're finally at the point where the West wants to provide a veneer of peace talks to avoid the embarrassment of outright loss that is now unavoidable despite the full-blast propaganda since February. Even with the loss of 25% of territory, their outlets are still singing the song of Ukrainian victory. But even the most religious and orthodox CNN adherent will at some point begin to wonder how one wins by losing territory to an invader. Or maybe Russia squeezing Germany's throat has caused frantic calls to Washington from Brussels that has persuaded them to try and talk. I don't know if Russia will back away at this point. My guess is they're taking most of Eastern Ukraine, down to Odesa, come what may. But I think they will let Germany breathe a little.
