Coast itaenda hivyo - 2 million acres
« on: June 25, 2022, 12:54:58 PM »
Ruto says 2 million acres - 1 million for squators - 1 million for public projects and investors .

Coast of acquisition?

Centum bought 11,000 acres from Rea Vipingo for 2.1B.

So 100,000 acres will be 20B.

So 1,000,000 acres will be 200B.

So 2 million acres will be 400B.

Ruto says every year he will reserves 20B for land purchase.....so 100K every year....he might have to do 40B annually to do this in 5yrs.

But REA is prime near the coast and mombasa.

So deep inside Taita or Kwale or Kilifi an acre will be way cheaper. Ruto will give Kenyatta family 1b take or leave Taita Taveta 100k...and as he considering the offer...squattors would already be settled.

Small prize to pay because it will unlock coast - we can go there to buy the land from the squattors - and title deed can invest there. Our coast has so much potential but it remain unexploited because 10 miles strip is owned by shadowy characters - who also have lost the land to squattors - so squattors cannot sell it neither can the owners - so it remain wasted. Entire coast can produce lots of fruits, sugar cane name, it. It has rivers...it's hot...just need fresh water...irrigation.

So yes that 100B will unlock more billions in new investment

This is very possible.

Joho did well with Waitiki land. Used 1.2 billion to buy 930 acres prime land.

Ufool insisted they pay the 182K. Still not a bad deal- 1K per month for 15 years.

Yes. Small strip of Diani beach Road has made Kwale County among the top counties GDP wise. Imagine a beach light rail running across the beachline.

Yes coastal tourism has potential but even more dongo kundu and lamu special economic zone will unlock our manufacturing.

Yes we need such - all over kenya - but the big ones have to be located in the coast - just meters from a free port like Lamu or Dong kundu - this especially for re-export - like we have EPZ - we just try to sell our labour - allow Chinese to ship the raw materials - and manufacture - and export to US through AGOA or to rest of Africa via Africa Free Trade. That is lowest hanging fruit.

Internally where we have raw materials - we can think of EPZ linked to a value chain- I think this limited now in scope and cannot scale like a LAMU SEZ - if we link to deep sea free port- like Dubai did - and China Shenzen.

We dont need any raw materials. We just make Lamu free port - and buy 100,000 acres  EPZ - and only condition is for them to employ millions of kenya.

We just need to copy Dubai Free Port and manufacturing around it in Lamu and Mombasa - because we millions of idle jobless youths.
