This obviously belongs to Shazam or the Musical Interlude but I am in pain.
"Oldie" seems to be hip-hop & R&B lovie-dovie type.
Hehehe. Just seeing this. Mea Culpa. But my tastes have gone through phases. Early Colle years I was heavily into West Coast "gangsta rap." This morose song by Pac after his homie Kato got shot and killed was one of my faves. Sadly the same fate visited him just a few years later. Nate Dogg too is also gone. Maisha ni fupi siste, enjoy it while you can.
Reminds me of the dinky little apartment I moved into during second sem of Freshman year. In an apartment complex where my weed-smoking Sierra Leonian neighbour downstairs was always being arrested and taken to jail every few months. I had no furniture so I slept on a beat up old couch I bought from a swap meet and bumped my music on my trusty little sleek boom box.
I also wanted to be as cool as the Akataas I had watched on MTV while in high school so I used to don the latest Nike kicks, baggy Girbaud jeans Tommy Hilfiger sweatshirts and spoke "wharrwharr? nahmean uknowwhatamsayin'.." like them. Late teen manenos.
I was also heavily into Southern Rap especially. Master P, Juvie, Mike Jones, Chamillionaire, et al. New Orleans, ATL and Houston of course dominated the scene big time at one point. Of course I had to experiment with ndhom. Yaani fangi. Yaani shash. Yaani purple haze. Yaani West Coast Cush. Yaani Ganja. Yaani Mary Jane. Just to fit in. One day they sold me bad dime bag. I tripped bad the whole night. Laughing at non-existent jokes to myself. I have never smoked anything, not even a cuban cigar ever since!!
