This obviously belongs to Shazam or the Musical Interlude but I am in pain.

Can anyone tell me what the first track is in the playlist? I can neither tell the song nor the artist.

Termie? RVHH? "Oldie" seems to be hip-hop & R&B lovie-dovie type.

Pole Nerfettit, I missed this one totally.  This is the guy.

I used Shazam to find it.  I see you also found it shortly after you asked.

Professor - Imoto

Kali sana Termie. Prof and his sleepy, call and response gruff chant style is timeless. Not sure if you posted this one yet. Pabi Cooper is FIYA🔥. I predict big things ahead for her in the industry.

She is good.   Though I'd hate to be a musician in that Azania space(staying relevant is a tough chore).

When I saw Breakdance in Olympics it took me back to this.

Termie; nostalgia!!
2004-2006 memories. There will never be an era like the Kwaito era, man.
Where did the time go?

By the way. What was the name of the Kwaito artist with a balaclava on 24/7? There's a song of his I've been looking for, for years! I can't remember the names of both!

Hehehe. Just seeing this. Mea Culpa. But my tastes have gone through phases. Early Colle years I was heavily into West Coast "gangsta rap." This morose song by Pac after his homie Kato got shot and killed was one of my faves. Sadly the same fate visited him just a few years later. Nate Dogg too is also gone. Maisha ni fupi siste, enjoy it while you can.

Reminds me of the dinky little apartment I moved into during second sem of Freshman year. In an apartment complex where my weed-smoking Sierra Leonian neighbour downstairs was always being arrested and taken to jail every few months. I had no furniture so I slept on a beat up old couch I bought from a swap meet and bumped my music on my trusty little sleek boom box.

I also wanted to be as cool as the Akataas I had watched on MTV while in high school so I used to don the latest Nike kicks, baggy Girbaud jeans Tommy Hilfiger sweatshirts and spoke "wharrwharr? nahmean uknowwhatamsayin'.." like them. Late teen manenos.

I was also heavily into Southern Rap especially. Master P, Juvie, Mike Jones, Chamillionaire, et al. New Orleans, ATL and Houston of course dominated the scene big time at one point. Of course I had to experiment with ndhom. Yaani fangi. Yaani shash. Yaani purple haze. Yaani West Coast Cush. Yaani Ganja. Yaani Mary Jane. Just to fit in. One day they sold me bad dime bag. I tripped bad the whole night. Laughing at non-existent jokes to myself. I have never smoked anything, not even a cuban cigar ever since!!

Then came my Tusungu muzik phase. Wakina Limp Bizkit, Third Eye Blind, and Hootie. These songs these songs bring back so many memories, I tells ya. Smoke filled bars with lots of college students. Cheap beers. MTV Real World. Daytime talk shows that had characters like "Rude Jude", Friday night dates. Enjoying being young as the college years sweetly slipped away. Perhaps too fast! Those were the days, siste.

Then after meeting my much older buddy from Namibia with his crazy (over 100 CDs) of Jazz and blues music, I got hooked on the same! This song reminds me of those days. There was an old jazz and blues lounge we used to go to that had the most amazing live blues music. Too much fun. Sadly it closed and was torn down around 2009 never to be heard from again.

I was just a youngster amongst much older folks and learned a lot from them. I learned that youth is fleeting. So are most friends. And to focus on what matters long-term in life, rather than the temporary.

Then, while still in undergrad, I met these gel, these gel, these gel from S.A. I tells ya. I've spoken about her before on this thread. It was an instant match. So much so that we once spent a whole night at Denny's just talking. Nonstop. She intro'd me to Kwaito and I was instantly hooked! This song reminds me always of her.

And so does this!

I also remember how Aaliyah was her favourite artist and this was her favourite jam from her first album

The rest of the storo has been told some-who on this thread

Then came my reggae phase. Grad school manenos. I grew some dreads but still avoided the weed. The problem with Reggae is it's depressing even when they're singing happy songs. This song reminds me of that phase
