Ruto is brilliant go-getter who learnt from Moi how to win elections despite the odds.
He would still have won without GEMA.
Now he can afford to lose GEMA and still win.
Without GEMA - Ruto could easily snap Kambas and win.
Right now he can win with just 30-40 percent of GEMA.
How does he do this - simple - improve when Uhuru failed to get votes.
Remember in 2013 - bare minimum - Uhuru was scoring almost zero everywhere except Kalenjin+GEMA - plus maybe Gusii;
Rest of tribes were in - another kikuyu cannot inherit another kikuyu
Now if you remove GEMA - 25-28 percent from Ruto column - Ruto has to find replacemnt of two big tribes - that gives him 20 something percent and improve elsewhere. This is doable. You can flip Luhyas and Kambas with right approach...then nail the missing 5 percent by painstakingly picking small tribes.
Raila failure to win is just because he is an idiot...who has had 45 percent for three elections..and instead of consolidating..he immediately destroy that coalition....now two months to election he is desperately trying to repair Ukambani.
Raila job since 2005 has been to get that 5 percent - ameshindwa! Kazi ni kuharibu then scramble last minute for left overs.
Moi a useless tugen won with 40 percent when opposed by all kabilas. Getting almost zero votes from big tribes but still able to consolidate all the smaller tribes into a big punch.
This election was won longtime ago. Once GEMA accepted Ruto it was Kaput.
If really Uhuru and Railas idea was to defeat Ruto. They should have created a very strong GEMA candidate and unleashed him to take comand of GEMA votes. Once GEMA was behind Ruto it was the end .
The other way was for Raila to support a different candidate.
They didnt do any of the two so The Presidency is Kapoot.
