These guy have been doing well as govt concentrates on watu wa suti at KAM. They have fabricating all sort of very hardy machines for small scale manufacturing; agriculture; baking; cooking

Very impressive, but very poor journalism. Good example:

Quote
When we arrived, workers were busy assembling a soap loader, which is a soap-making machine that can manufacture 500 kilos of bathing, multi-purpose and laundry soaps for small-scale producers.

500 kilos per day or per hour? We still have no clue on the manufacturing capacity of the machines.
Govt should help relocate the company to an industrial area. Working middle of residential areas is not the best for a manufacturing company.

If government can waste 100B on non-profitable company like Kenya airways and 40 Billion on Null and void BBI, imagine what it can do to stifle growth when priorities change. Having a smart government and a leader is truly important...

Wasting is not the word to be used when mentioning KQ. It is looting. The issue of KQ has been debated here before.

Someone need to kill KQ and sell 100 SOES that are draining public - wakina KCC, Mumias, NCPB, Nzoi, National Oil, Safaricom, KCB. Gov should not be in any business.

This is a good point and Ruto's economic plan should begin with Jua Kali. That's how countries like Taiwan began from their jua kali sectors.

Here is another one:  https://www.gjenge.co.ke/ Africans have to start making things. It's the only way out of their poverty not dancing and talking about village tribal politics 24/7

I will visit the workshop.
Githeri mediasm has killed journalism. The society wants motivation speaking. Add ufoolism and NIS monies and you only glad such a story is making it to press.

Find time to follow Ruto's economic bloc meetings in the counties. That is what they have been talking about for the last year and going. Bottom-up simply means stifling economy down and local up, giving startups a chance, elevating small businesses because they employ 85% of Kenyans as to big corporations that hire less than 15% of Kenyans. It makes sense to pump 100B in the Jua Kali sector and follow through that they succeed instead of Kenya Airways, which has been making losses since the early 90s!

Reverse engineering machines for local market has been growing,  significant companies e.g https://muharata.co.ke/ have been created . There's KIRDI,KIE, development bank, youth fund, women fund etc. more government spending isn't the solution. The solution is lowering cost of inputs so that jua kali is competitive against Indian and Chinese equipment manufacturers. NMC https://nmc.go.ke/ should be an essential partner with jua kali to offer fabrication , cnc machining etc , jua kali can focus on design and assembly until they can afford to buy big equipment to mass produce.  Small cottage industries that are competitive not subsidized is Kenyan's path to industrialization. We have many jua kali sme the question is how to ramp up and scale. I have worked with jua kali to reverse engineer a couple of beverage and food equipment, the knowledge and craftsmanship is readily available.

These guys needs loans so that they can manufacture. Banks should offer these loans - with the govt acting as the guarantor. We need to do away with Chinese stuff.

They need a public health person. I see lots of places where bacteria can cause chaos, especially the floors.
