First Sabina, now Kuria. What's the point? When these elections were already impeached at the highest court with a nullification? Also, it's not that difficult for the politician to say they had a slip of the tongue and meant something entirely different. So I don't get. Seems like silly PR exercise.

Whats the point they were making when slip of the tongue? Ask why CIA says, Keep talking?

But even if the point is to confess 2017 rigging, those results were nullified, meaning SCOK itself decided they stunk. If a politician says the same thing, what will summoning them now achieve?

Chebukati still fighting for his torn reputation but they should blame SCOK for that. If Moses Kuria says,
"I only meant to say, 'Sisi ndio tulikuwa tunamuibia Siri ya kura,'" you can't argue back, even if you disbelieve him.  :D

So what's summoning him supposed to achieve for IEBC? They were already slapped by SCOK in 2017.  :D

Sounds more like statehouse...mainly because Uhuru brother Muhiho and Nancy Gitau have heavily invested in 2022 rigging Machine. Remember Huduma number?

Lol, predictably, Kuria says he had a slip of the tongue. What he meant to say was, "Tulikuwa tunamuiMBIA."

Why add 'kura' after that? Should've gone with my suggestion, that he really meant to say "Tulikuwa tunamuibia Siri ya kura."

Either way, the IEBC is just engaging in a pointless PR exercise over an election that was already discredited. They should move on to other things  :D

It's criminal to rig election - DPP/DCI should have swung into action if they were independent.
At least he deserves to be summoned for questions for the record.
IEBC also have sole mandate to run elections - and they should use election regulations to fine or ban such characters.
That should send a message that such kind of reckless talk whose import is to discredit election as peaceful transfer of power are dealt with.

This is not a joking matter. This has led to deaths, thousands people injured, raped and 650,000 removed from their abodes.

Lol, predictably, Kura says he had a slip of the tongue. What he meant to say was, "Tulikuwa tunamuiMBIA."

Read electoral code of conduct. Chebukati doing his job. Next is to fine them. It such a shame others are not doing their job by investigating such criminal allegations.

Pundito, what will DCI investigate? An off-hand statement in a political speech? After Kuria has said it was a slip of the tongue . . . which is NOT criminal (and is NOT the same thing as rigging) . . . What will DCI then do? Do they have evidence of rigging? How are they supposed to prosecute/punish a single statement that could easily be interpreted several different ways? Whether IEBC/DCI/DPP ... This is a storm in a teacup. Will lead to nothing.

I'm just ammused that IEBC seriously think they have a name to salvage as far as those 2017 elections go. SCOK painted them with a stain they cannot wash off no matter who they summon. That's my only ammusement.

I already know they'll do nothing to Kuria, not because the man is innocent, but because nothing can be done to him, legally, without evidence . . . and I don't see much evidence they can use against him. Their burden would be to establish that he was confessing to rigging and did not experience an innocent slip of the tongue. You really think they can achieve this? I highly doubt it.

DCI should at least summon them - their statement is self-incrementing. They just need to take them court - and prove their uttered those words. It's upon the judiciary to determine the punishment. I would give them 5yrs for electoral offence of rigging election - convicted based on t their evidence.

Secondly IEBC were not fingered for rigging elections. The results of the election were never impugned. Supreme Court had issues with processes. No where did it find that IEBC had rigged in favour of Jubilee.

I know you guys want to desperately spin this - but Chebukati is busy working - and AZIMIO/NASA crew did not make any changes to IEBC - despite their boycott.

I am sure come August - we shall hear the usual cries - Chebukati is ameiba bla de bla.

There's nothing to spin when SCOK ruling is written in stone, not our wild imagination.  :)

And you're reading this all wrong, Pundit: In fact, all Raila supporters believe Kuria was confessing to a criminal offence! Rigging. They're with you on this! They would be very happy if he was prosecuted and yapped even more about this alleged rigging. I'm not talking about that at all.

I'm talking about what IEBC thinks it's achieving with this pointless exercise. To me, it looks like a whole bunch of pretending.

Kuria at most will spend an afternoon repeating to investigators or IEBC that he had a slip of the tongue and meant something different. He'll swear he has never been aware of or taken part in any rigging scheme in his life. There's no evidence of rigging involving him, at least, so this will not go anywhere.

A serious court will find them guilty - the context is clear - the rigging allegation serious.
DCI ought to summon them
Chebukati job is to protect the integrity of elections
And I expect him to fine both heavily.
I would give them a 5 million fine.
This should be warning to others.
We may not have evidence of rigging but rigging election is not a joking matter.
It's almost tantamount to 1982 Raila coup.
It's a treason.
And these two are "joking" on serious matters - eroding any remaining confidence of our elections - and endangering our future.
Once people truly believe elections are rigged - then bloodshed start - as people use violent means to get power.

For example assume this kind of nonsense continue from Uhuru people - that they will rig Ruto
And Ruto loses - and claimed he was rigs.
And the warriors start attacking poor Gusiis using such public statements that we "shall rig" as evidence of rigging by gov.

There's nothing to spin when SCOK ruling is written in stone, not our wild imagination.  :)
