How about The Abkhazia and Ossetia War in Georgia 2008 ?
What about Crimea in 2014 ?
Talking of Sarajevo and Kitchens .Sarajevo was an attack by 15000 Troops . This is an operation by 200 000 Troops.
You are Naive comparing Russian Army to Tigray . As at yesterday Ukrainian Airforce capabilities were incapacitated .

Did you say Lunch? Or more like lunch in 4 years?  :o
The siege of Sarajevo lasted 1 425 days almost 4 years!
More recently Tigray forces got close to Addis but turned tail and went back home. My point is simple: Street fighting is totally different in population centers. If someone comes into your kitchen, you have nowhere to go but fight. In close quarter combat the term super power doesn't count unless you  throw a nuclear bomb. That is what America avoided when they dropped two atomic bombs on Japan rather than walk onto the main island.

Some more facts:
Quote
The siege of Sarajevo lasted three times longer than the Battle of Stalingrad and more than a year longer than the siege of Leningrad, and was the longest siege of a capital city in the history of modern warfare

Putin 20 miles from Kiev.
He will likely have lunch tomorrow in Kiev.

Lopsided reporting. President Zelensky is as defiant as ever. Read other media outlets. Even your own local media is reporting so!

A 'Winston Churchill' here with his version of "We shall never surrender". Ukrainanian Ex-President Poroshenko. I think all Presidents of Ukraine have been adorable. True meaning of honest democratic elections.

This one is a good candidate for being held to account for the genocide he committed as from 2014 to 2019 in Eastern Ukraine.
He will be a nice trophy a matter of time.

What if people from former soviet union join to protect Ukraine?
Because they see themselves as next if they do nothing.

But why would weak, tiny countries do this if the big, strong ones are staying the hell away, though? Most likely they'll just dump any remote notions they might harbor about security pacts and keep the Russians away that way: far easier for them to do than volunteer to be beaten up.

Most of the nations apart from Baltic states are Pro Russian.
Maybe u need to know the following .Ukraine was a state created by Lenin/Bolsheviks after Russian Revolution in 1917. After winning World War 2 some parts of Poland were added to Ukraine by U.S.S.R.  The adding of land came with Poles . Now Poles since time memorial have been having problems with Russians although they are the same tribe/race called Slavs.
Prior to the Genocide which started in 2014 Majority in Ukraine were Russian Speaking Citizens living in the East . Most moved to Russia to escape the war instigated by Kiev and the balance changed with the Western Ukrainians(Polish Ukrainians)  becoming majority.
When Latvia , Estonia , Lituania joined NATO Putin was too much preoccupied in restoring Russias economy that he closed his eyes when Russians en mass were relocating back to Russia. With NATO on their side the Baltic Countiries banned use of Russian language and stopped employment of Russians in Government offices. It was so bad that they had language polices. Majority of Russians ressetled back to Russia primarily in St Petersbourg.
Putin put a redline of Natos expansion with Ukraine. Biden thought he was smarter than in 2014 refused to sit down with Putin and listen to him. The outcome is this a single mistake and we have a nuclear war.

You probably dont know Russia Ukraine closeness. Do you know how many Ukrainian Army personell crossed over to Russian Army ?
No amount of emotional posts will change the course of events.

In modern warfare, and as of old, he who wins the combat in close quarters is the one who knows the terrain better. The resident or the visitor?
You haven't a clue what I am talking about. Listen to this 'friendly' advice given by 2 Ukraine soldiers to combat Russians. Warning graphic photos. They even mention how they are using Javelin missiles to great effect.

Am not talking about governments. Regular citizens from Romania, moldova etc.
