You can bet she spent less than many kenyans who spend a fortune to build apartments. Min 20 million - get into debt - for 15yrs - and they have to work for banksters.

Now most manufacturing can be done with 10m or even less - and it employs you, your kids, your wife, and many other people.

This is why no bahindi is out there applying for useless jobs. They create jobs in those manufacturing companies. They create wealth. Rarely do you find them building apartments.

But try telling Mkenya these kind of stuff - they are just into real estate. The country remain poor. They remain poor. Their kids remain jobless.

Excellent!

Great philosophy. Such YouTube features are doing well for marketing.

Enda's pricing is high end like Clarks and Sketchers -$120. She needs a product retailing at $20-$30. Heck everywhere Kenyans are wearing $1 Crocs.

I saw a carton from Umoja in their factory. This umoja is doing marvelous given their pricing is more Kenyan and easily competes with Chinese imports.

I also see the TotoSCi guy is doing well with sales. Once his products start being accepted by hawkers it will be a giant.

Though from news coverage he needs PR lessons. Politicians are mainly good cover for conmen and wash wash not a entrepreneur servicing loans and running a small factory which needs 24/7 micro managing. Mhindi doing billions in Industrial Area remain anonymous yeye na sales ya 500K ameanza kupigwa picha na raila during such volatile campigns.

Agreed - Enda though is targeting runners. Very few in kenya. But abroad most wazungu will buy running shoes.

If gov was to take over housing from informal sector - and drive the rental/purchase down - many kenyans will have to think of doing real business - like commercial farming, tourism, manufacturing, name it.

Mhindi in kenya was forced into manufacturing when in 1967 they were banned from retail business in many areas.

Building houses/Real Estate in Kenya is not profitable, especially if you have to take out massive loans in millions. I think folks with tones of money should try apartments/buildings. I hope the girl and other startup enterprises will wither the harsh business environment to survive for over 20 years. I have noticed things get started big in Kenya, but five to 10 years down the road, they go quietly to kaput.
