Formal jobs are not being created.
Only about 70K formal jobs being created annually - maybe yote ni security guards :)
0.8M informal jobs.
Kenya now has to seriously think about exporting labour Philiphine styles.
Unless something is done...2015 ni juzi...the formal job backlog is crazy.
For now it's back to 90s - move abroad if you can.

We need to start thinking about BPO seriously.
And exporting jobs - by signing contracts - with other countries
3,000 nurses to UK is good start.

All our ambassadors should be told their job is to look for jobs abroad and sing agreement with developed countries for export of labour.

Ruto has promised to appoint Diaspora Ministry - and I think exporting labour will be top priority now.

Slavery by the backdoor. We have run out of options for providing our people with dignified livelihoods in their own country so we export them like goods. No isn't it.

this is it. Anytime I meet a graduate looking for a job i tell them to find a way out of Kenya. I just give them ideas on what to do to get out .. THe middle contracts have mainly been helpful and have given people an out. There is certain things that need to be done to curb abuse of Kenyan employee in the gulf states but overall 90% of the kenyans there have benefited

While we wait to have a sober President with a functioning brain, those in the West, particularly the US, should help their graduates migrate to the US. The US at the moment needs workers like NEVER before. I don't know how countries can be so freaking different. McDonald's and sprawling fast-food restaurants in my neighborhood pay High School kids nearly $30, or 3300 Kenya shillings an hour. What is worse is they cannot find enough people to fill these entry level positions while educated graduates in other countries wallow in misery. Earth is hard, but way harder in Kenya. Earth here is to damn soft !
