Court slaps former Kemri boss with Sh19.6m fine
« on: September 15, 2021, 05:17:58 PM »
It should have been a jail term with the fine on top. This he will pay with the interest he earns per year from the monies he stole from KEMRI.

Quote
A former Kenya Medical Research Institute (Kemri) director has been slapped with a Sh19.6 million fine for corruptly acquiring public funds.

An anti-corruption court sitting in Nairobi handed the steep fine to former Kemri director Dr Davy Koech, or serve six years in jail in default.

Yes a slap in the face. He will simply sell one plot he owns and is free.

There should be no option to pay fine unless it's like the Moddy owori sister - something like a 1Billion.

Indepedent judiciary are slowly turning the wheel.

Once we have institution fighting corruption without emotions; we will deal with corruption.

It appears even if you steal funds - 30yrs from now - you cannot escape.

Wait until it comes near you. We'll see if you will keep singing this same tune.

Near me? What pray have I stolen? If they find Uhuru or Ruto or Kalonzo or Raila or maDVD guilty - for SGR, Lands, Maize, cemetry - name all the scandals - that would be great. They should just not politicize.

This why police is independent if COK 2020 is implement
DPP is independent
EACC is independent
Judiciary is independent.

Once they go for all the criminals in a way that would be seen to be free and fair - kenyans will support them.

But if you sing BBI - you get a jail free card - and you say Ruto - you are taken to court - that is quickest way to kill graft war and make it politics.

Wait until it comes near you. We'll see if you will keep singing this same tune.

"Near you" is not the same as "to you" but the good book says a thief runs when he's not being chased.

I dont associate - I vote for best candidate - when all factors are considered. I vote for Uhuru, Sonko, Ruto, Kibaki, Raila before - and all have their serious failings - but I evaluate them on many factors - and settle on the best for the season.

What you need to do is raise your intellectual depth to be able to vote for someone without spending all your life trying to love them and all their failings.

Love your wife and family - and kids - ingine ni ten feet pole.

I will vote for Ruto - knowing he is super corrupt - but I also know he is super efficient - I know he will create 100B - and steal 10B dollars - and become a trillionaire.

In trucking business - where I am somewhat invovled - I long gave up on finding a driver or turnboy who wont steal from me - all of them are thieves - so I go for other qualities. I like those that steal but bring lots of business - the hardworking lot who take initiaitve - he benefits - and I also benefit. If you get a Raila type - who just steal and wait for you to give him business...your business will collapse.

That's good. Just don't associate with them for bad company corrupts good morals.
