Suez canal blockage

The operator of the ship blocking the Suez Canal said it would take at least two or three more days to dig out, while other ship operators began rerouting tankers and containers, sending some on two-week extended voyages around the southern tip of Africa

I have always wondered why Egypt does not take initiative to expand the canal and milk the shipping tolls. One mishap messing international cargo is sad.

Egyptian need to train an army of ship captains. Once a ship sign to use the canal is under Egyptian captain and command. Thats the quickest and cheapest way to avoid this kind of sabotage.

This is along the same script as COVID

The top bureaucrats seem to be conducting an experiment to expose the "fragility of global supply chains"...

They probably also cut some trunk undersea fiber internet lines or hack some utilities just to prove a point
