I remember the guy as one of the more famous coup plotters in Africa in the 80s.  From a minority tribe and mixed heritage too.

Yes he basically stripped all the corrupt and even non-corrupt proceeds - and reset Ghana. Then handed power - and went back to living like a civilian. An African hero.
