Six tribes dominate top government jobs
« on: September 04, 2020, 02:19:29 AM »
"Eighty per cent of public service positions are held by six communities."

A report on the ethnic and regional distribution of high cadre jobs in the Government shows the Kikuyu, Kalenjin, Luo, Luhya, Kamba and Kisii dominate these plum positions.

Out of the 416 top management positions in the civil service, one community holds 120.

This is 29 per cent of the total number of the ethnic diversity of top management in the civic service and twice as much as the Kalenjin community, which has 11 per cent (45) of the total workforce.

There should be a hiring freeze and promotion of top six until all the other 34 tribes have a promotional representation

It appears Kikuyu and Kalenjin are over represented, Meru slightly, am surprised they are that many Merus in gvt, they actually tie with Kamba  and more than Kisii   : :o I knw in Police Meru are one of the largest greatly over represented but Generally this collerates to the populations

Actually it is one ethnic group that dominates the government jobs and not six. The Kikuyu (120) make up more than the next three ethnic groups (119) all together.

You can clearly see the meaning of "deep state" or "the system".
Here is where the media gets it wrong those so called 120 Kikuyus are not elected officials nor do they represent Kikuyus interests. They fight for their own interests and that is remaini g in position of influence and power.
But when the media trivializes the issue to seem as if Kikuyus are being faught the Kikuyus will just come out and defend them.
The truth of the matter the fear of "deep state" is losing their means of eating and exercising power which is very addictive. However based on history regardless of everything when there is a change of regime they will lose those positions if it is their man who won or lost.
Kimemia post 2013 thought he would reatain his powerfull position as Secretary of Cabinet   , it was only a matter of time and Uhuru used Westgate to throw him under the bus and Kimemia was instrumental in a seamless transition of power to Uhuru. Same can be said of Sally Kosgei snd Charles Njonjo et all.

Goodluck trying to delink those political appointments from the politicians.

We all know those positions are given to those close to the political ruling elite.... so it's directly related to voting pattern.

Moreover, private sector contracts also rely on political connections... all the same!

That is why if Ruto takes over from Uhuru in 2022 Kalejins will start replacing Kikuyus even in the private sector. Most Kenyans forget the govt is the biggest single  consumer of most goods and services in the country.

I pray to god those mogotio goats don't ever take the helm again. Otherwise biashara kwisha kenya, they have no business sense whatsoever at least gikuyu ni mwanabiashara, kwa hivyo anafahamu vitu vinastahili mara zingine. Kales are economically illiterate. ALL parastatals and government companies were run to the ground during Moi's error.
