The UK needs to deal with both economic superpowers so it is a middle ground. Boris can't afford to antagonize either. Huawei is to be kept off the "core network" - security equipment and apparatus or whatever that means - while telcos will not be obliged to dump Huawei. Sounds like PR. The US is losing the trade war slow but sure.
