Investments 2019 Review
« on: January 21, 2020, 01:45:53 PM »
2019 was a year of learning

I entered Trucking business at it's worst downturn since 2008 recession. I lost about $20k but learnt a lot of lessons that I am carrying in 2020. One of the lessons is that it is better to operate for 2 peak months and make the money and then park for slow months. The business has possible margins of 20 to 30 percent. High risks are insurance costs and over regulation.

For Retirement:
I moved all my funds 7 years ago to Index funds. I am still waiting out to see if the index funds will end up being the best decision. So far I am happy with the upswing in the market. Were it not for a few bad decisions I made in my early 20s I would be looking into a very secure retirement.

2020 to 2025 Goal
To be mortgage free. To liquidate all my Kenyan assets and park them in USA market

Payroll
The mother of all life wasting endeavor. I plan to quit in 5 years or land a middle level senior management job with huge parachute

Business Ideas:

Youtube creation and other E entertainment ideas.

Expand from logistics to leasing. I can make bank by leasing trucks

what are your ideas, sucesses, failures?

The last decade my worst investments have been in Kenya. Kshs is so weak
