Let pray the economy recovers because clearly without Ruto steering gov business - and with his cabinet divided - things will get worse - we are soon going back to 4% default growth rate.

Let us keep calm and complete this journey peacefully.
What would Ruto do differently that he cannot do as DP? It would be helpful if Ruto can give pointers on how he could steer the economy as well as the team that he would appoint.

Jubilee 1.0 is evidence enough of what a united, stable and focused gov can achieve. Uhuru inviting ODM and their makelele to gov  in Jubilee 2.0 has led to gov in civil war akin to NARA - and you cannot expect investment in such an environment - where people are not sure where gov is heading - what Uhuru is planning - etc etc. The economy will continue to tank - and he will continue to get frustrated.

GoK has run for eons and is running ok without Ruto. He was the driver of borrow & build which is a big flop. His SGR and other URP ideas are the root of the present quagmire. Don't conflate hyperactivity with performance. Lame Kibaki beat omnipresent Moi by a mile.

So we don't need PORK - let just have the PM in a parliamentary system - as our silver bullet.

The economy last year was doing badly - and hopefully this year it recovers- because we are soon going into election year when economy will tank as usual - as investment are delayed. The BBI mongrel - what Uhuru plans will be - & a possible fallout btw Ruto and Uhuru will heighten risk of another 2007 - so the risk will compound - investment decision will be delayed.

And we are talking both private & public investment. We cannot build and borrow because lenders have refused. Chinese asked Uhuru what is 2022 succession plan was and when he wasn't forthcoming - SGR to Kisumu basically got stuck literally in a maize plantation in Narok.

Uhuru will get more and more frustrated as gov become unable to meet it's obligation.
