This Thiel dude is confusing.  It's hard to summarize what he is all about.  It must be the same for the intelligent people publicly supporting the most anti-intellectual President in living memory.  He even suggests automation ain't a thing, yet you just need to look at how you do things today compared to a decade ago.

About conservatives, that's just a PC term for a certain type of person.  There has never been any enduring principle that they follow.  They are just bigots, clocking themselves in the most convenient cover story of the day.

That said an American conservative is a very different animal from a European conservative.  European conservatives would be just slightly right of Bernie Sanders.  American conservatives would be caucusing with the Marine Le Pen types and similar fringe elements if they were in Europe.
