Status of our road network
« on: September 20, 2018, 08:39:14 AM »
The roads are generally getting better - but we really need to double down on investment here - and of course pay taxes. All 40,000 kms of national roads should paved - this huge challenge to national gov. All county roads should be gravel/murramed and motorable all year road - counties need to invest a lot here. All urban roads should be paved.

KES 300B invested in DOA SGR, plus KES 300B invested in DOA MSA-NBI expressway could have done miracle if part of it were channeled to agriculture and road network (both bitumen and all manner of all-weather non-bitumen rural roads)

Right now, agriculture is dead and jubilee mega-infrastructure will be white elephants.

Uhuru could have used opportunities he travels to negotiate for grants for infrastructure that feed into China belt road, which are basically the many rural roads, etc. But he only took loans on Kenyans collateral to prop up a chinese plan to dominate trade and debt diplomacy with nothing on kenya side as leverage.

Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one ~ Thomas Paine
