He certainly doesn't control 2/3 of parliament. Impeachment threshold is too high. But he sure can stop anything that requires simple majority.

Kalenjin and Kikuyu are about tied at nearly 55mps. Luos are somewhere in 30s. Kalenjin & Kikuyus have about 7 govenors - with Kalenjin acing Kikuyus in having about 10 Deputy Governors (7 from Kalenjin majority counties plus Narok/Transzoia/Nakuru - we lost one in Bungoma) against I think 7 or 8 for Kikuyus. Luos have 4 governors and 3 deputy governors if i am no wrong.

So therefore it's obvious Uhuru and Ruto can go toe to toe...while your man Raila is an empty suit who has been ridding KANU machine that he inherited in 2002 after inducing a rebellion.

He surely does, with 40 kalenjin mps behind him,he can pass simple majority

All he needs to do is ask Aden Nduare to call a parliamentary session late in the evening and have police to block all MPs who might vote the other way from parliament. :D :D :D :D
He has done it before and history could be repeated.

It is impossible for an individual - even a deputy president to beat a determined controller of State in parliament.

Matiba deployed all his resources to bankroll Orengo's no confidence vote. The first attempt was frustrated by the speaker. The second went through to debate and vote.

A day before Matiba had the numbers to send Moi home. But by the time the debate started and millions of shillings and shocking threats - even one kidnapping - Moi had taken the initiative.

In the end they discovered they did not need to play hardball. No MP wanted a new election and they wanted was cash.

Thus on his second attempt, Moi did not deploy his dogs. He simply dished out cash. He then developed the bribe window where loyal MPs (including opposition moles) would receive handouts from specific people. Later the window at Internal security was introduced. Kibaki inherited and he thought it was a good idea.

Pundit needs to review others who at some point controlled a large number of MPs. In Kenya that leads nowhere. It is like the roosters comb: looks red and dangerous but quite harmless and delicious for the fox.

So parliament is useless? And you want us to go parliamentary system.

You've grown fond of the strawman.
