The Reformer - Martin Luther
« on: November 01, 2017, 02:03:46 AM »
It seems the Reformation Day is mostly a German affair. Protestants don't take their faith seriously. Not even a doodle! :o Well in Germany Obama is in attendance as Angela's guest. It's like christmas.

I think Martin Luther was quite influential and inspirational - who cut the Church's totalitarianism down to size - with his tough questions. He is a symbol of religious and cultural freedom and tolerance.

Well first of all I learnt about the origins of Protestantism, and about corruption in the catholic church. They separated because the Catholic church was unable to contain corruption.

Right. You didn't know this before. Smh

The biggest gain was reducing the Church's grasp - which ensured secularism especially in the state. In the days of yore the Church was totalitarian.
