Do NOT accept and Move on
« on: August 24, 2017, 03:26:52 PM »
There is a campaign by Jubilee that those who are challenging the computer generated presidential results should accept and move on.  My advice is never take advise from your opponent because they have a conflict of interest and their advise is self serving.  Jubilee is trying to create a benevolent dictatorship promising "development" if we all turn a blind eye to the social and economic evils that they are committing against the nation of Kenya.  Democracy is a 24/7 365 days a year affair therefore let nobody tell you that you should accept and move on.  That is not the only option.  The other option is be "angry and fight back".  Fighting back is also protected by the constitution. Dr. Ndii has a right to fight back. In the USA Puerto Rico always holds referendums to secede from the USA and I do not see anybody go to jail or being labeled an enemy of state.  What I consider treasonous is when Ouruto tell the whole country that they will keep power for the next 20 years and beyond by creating an electoral firewall. Is that democracy? Those who are not included in that circle have a right to self determination.  I plead with Kenyans not to be intimidated by the calls to accept and move on but to fight back before this trend is so entrenched that our children will have to spill a lot of blood to reverse it.

Yes indeed. Secession politics is not inherently violent. If people don't want to stay in a union, they should be free to separate and this must be done peacefully. It's the state's job to make people feel included enough to want to stay. If it fails, no one can be blamed if some want to move on permanently. Discussing these things is not violent. It is a chance to build a nation whether through more meaningful integration or separation. Dr. Ndii did nothing wrong or inciteful.

The court of Appeal cleared the way for secession.

Just start a secessionist party and see the doors of 50% devolution open. In civilized places like UK independence referenda are held every now and then like elections... while in Africa (South Sudan, etc) millions have to die before a vote is entertained.
