Wow!! If nakumatt goes down, it might go down with all the malls that its anchor tenant. Going through kenya chapter 11 to reorganize and get out of expensive leases might be the only solution.

Nakumatt was a money laundering operation. It was never designed to succeed. It was a business built on quick sand. Around election time money launders hedge their bets. They don't think jubilee has a chance. That explains the long queues to hand cash to NASA.

We know a majority were by last month still giving both sides. However the attacks on Wanjigi and the failed rally in Kakamega tilted things in favor of NASA. When history is written the two events would mark the end of jubilee.

The rally in Bomet also convinced many businessmen that Uhuru wouldn't make it. It was too late for the NIS to engineer a media blackout against NASA. If anything it showed panic.

Nakumatt is dead because it just has no sponsors. It survived the Moi transition to Kibaki because Mwau and Kabogo held off the competition. Now that Ruto wants to knock out Kabogo nakumatt is a casualty. Kirubi is also looking for space. If NASA wins easily and nakumatt is still struggling it could be rescued or get someone needing it for laundering money and transiting drugs.
