Amina is a Trojan horse for Kenya failed state. Our foreign policy hasn't been good under her. Except for ICC lobbying (which wasn't a state issue), there isn't much on her belt.

I hope there exist someone better that will win among other candidates.

Jubilee propaganda that they had support from 51 states is the most egregious I have heard so far. Here are the facts (below). The South SAfricans have a great chance in Botswana candidate.

Soe of the Jubilee lies included claiing that Chad would vote for Amina and abandon her own candidate:
... [the ICC case] will be tried in Europe, where due procedure and expertise prevail.; ... Second-guessing Ocampo and fantasizing ..has obviously become a national pastime.- NattyDread

What is the job of an AU chairperson?

I think Amina is the clear front-runner. Botswana foreign policy is too advanced/liberal for the dictators club liking.

To be the CEO of the organisation - running the Ethiopia office basically - and implementing AU resolutions.
What is the job of an AU chairperson?

AU is a useless organisation. Why does anyone in his right mind want to be chairperson of such a mess?

Some good ideas have come out of AU - NEPAD - being one of them - that gave us undersea fiber network with rest of world. AU has budget of about 500M - which is quite some money to manage - plus being AU chaperson is nearest to being president of Africa. AU can threaten small countries like  Burundi or Gambia - with fire and brimstone. And of course it can be used against neo-colonial institution of the west - such as ICC.
