It is interesting that Tanzania chose "competitive" split contracts for its rail project; unlike jubileee so-called government to government contract. I suppose this will spread risk while also pitting the contractors against each other to do a good job. The split contracts mean that there is a good chance that Magufuli will allocate a section of rail line to local contractors :)

It also looks like Tanzania is doing electric rail.

Magufuli at work!

Kenya will become the Tail Grabber in East Africa thanks to corruption. The Kenyan SGR was out-dated before construction. Who still builds a railway line for diesel locomotives in this day and age?
... [the ICC case] will be tried in Europe, where due procedure and expertise prevail.; ... Second-guessing Ocampo and fantasizing ..has obviously become a national pastime.- NattyDread

In all fairness the project ws started by Raila but it was hazardly managed by Uhuru. Costs are waay out of control.
