Bill Gates doesnt think so. So does Berkshire Hathaway founder, Warret Buffett who bought helped his son start a farming business and said "goodluck son".
But, in Kenya, passing wealth to kids who end up being drunks is normal.

You'd expect the children of the world's second-richest man to have the means to do whatever they want, right? Hit the books in college and get a degree, and then another degree, and another. Go on a year-long whirl around the world. Play, explore, try new things, run through that trust fund. I have no wealth.    But I am hopeful that I might someday become a senior civil servant or politician in Kenya, even if for just a couple of years.

Interesting debate.I'll definite invest in my children education all the way and hopefully help them say top up mortagage to buy a house or start a business -the same way I  have been helped and would help my siblings, grandchildrenand other deserving cases. There is something to be admired of the indian/asian culture where kids(sons) inherit the wealth but do all they can do multiply this. Look at Tata...that has been managed by tata family since 1850!
