The guy below is Joe Mutambu MP for Mwingi. For those not aware Mwingi is totally painted in Water-Melon colors (No disrespect intended for Former VP Kalonzo Musyoka). In fact people queue outside Kalonzo Musyoka's bedroom window to listen to any utterance he might make in his sleep indicating how to vote. In short Kalonzo is a huge Dog Owner on the scale of Ruto, Uhuru, Raila, etc.

Chances that Joe Mutambu would somehow make it back to parliament to support Jubilee are zero. It is simply not possible. Joe Mutambu knows that.

Yet he has Jubilee going. Is this a game or what? Is Ruto unaware that he can only get one vote in Mwingi and that is from the local DO sent there by Uhuru?

There was(am not sure if it survived) a law that was meant to address political prostitution.  What needs to happen is to give the party the power to recall and replace these guys.  But leadership in Kenya way too self serving to ever entertain that notion.

Simple. Make your party so strong at grassroot level nobody will dare to cross over. That is what happen all over the world. Why would a democrat rep in blue state entertain defecting to republican party? So first we have to build parties....which will take some time...maybe another 50yrs.

The issue is more than just ending prostitution.  I think it's also logistical.  The way we have it in Kenya, a defection would lead to a vacancy which can only be filled in a by-election.

In the US, I am not sure about the House.  But a vacancy arising in the middle of the term in the Senate is filled depending on the rules each state has.  In Illinois, the governor will get to make the replacement.  The current governor is Republican, so in such a scenario he is likely to pick a Republican leaning candidate.  No need for elections.
