Yup. Sakaja could have sneaked to the opposition and be unveiled by RiggyG and Kalonzo as first domino. Well, first big fish after Havi, Omanga, Kanini Kega, etc.
DCP-Wiper could have crafted a deal based on the optics of UDA is sinking ship in urban, and Mt Kenya, etc.
They could easily offer Babu a big CS job.

But now, Sakaja has been captured by Ruto.
I think it is a stupid move because - the narrative is now this is NMS 2.0 and state capture to weaken devolution.
This deal saves neither of the two. They will be lucky to get a single MP in Nairobi let alone a governor.

Sakaja the turncoat was drifting towards the opposition.
But Ruto sniffed out the early signals. And now has ensnared him hopelessly.
Both gain nothing  because they will be fought hard as killing devolution by Babu and Sifuna.

Now Sakaja will die with Ruto. The window is closed.
UDA has nothing in Nairobi so his only value is first domino optics.
