There are 1450 wards in Kenya and i presume each has a police station while the number of commercial vehicles in operation is over 200,000..I haven't even considered the tuktuks and uber..Everywhere you go, you will find a police road block, the normal police take 100 bribe while in major towns like kasarani, mombasa or embakasi they impound your vehicle and demand 2000....So the number of bribes collected must be over 100MN per day...that money goes all the way to the Police headquarters,The kenyan police is a criminal enterprise that survives on bribery and thuggery from traffic, liquor, traffiking, smuggling, armed gangs which maybe collects 1BN a day,any attempt to stop them will not succeed in my thoughts.
Raila tried it in 2008 unsuccessfully.
