How many accidents have happened on that junction since it began. Lets not deny people their source of livehood just coz of a freak accident that can happen anywhere...just  erect small barriers n build more acceleration lanes

Nobody wishes to be there,Life circumstances sometime force people.dont mock them or tribalize the matter.

Let gov find a win win solution for all people who sell their products across major highways.

The money they earn pays tax, rent, school fees etc.

How about setting up rest areas  or rest stops with markets washrooms, restaurants etc . Preferably private owned land leased from counties or kenha?

Life in Kenya is cheap.  This is why alshabab will never succeed in kenya because a few deaths here and there do not move people.

These politicians need to start finding practical solutions when dealing with a population of people living in abject poverty.

Hehe I see where you are going with that. Kenya nikama Russia in this regard. Prisoners with zero training turned into conscripts and sent to certain death huko Ukraine. @Noway knows that is true. Kenyans who are able to reside outside get to breath freedom and fresh air like they just left one large prison.

From the residents not fearing death to their leaders not fearing stealing funds of the dead (or even poor student families).

I have not seen nor came accross an arrestor bed in Kenya. It is more effective than speed humps. Speed humps will accelerate your death by tipping the vehicle over . In otherwords, arrestor beds are mostly found where the risk of runaway heavy vehicles is high i.e. in steep terrain, prior to tight bends and on approaches to toll plazas.

We should have an exchage program where Kenyan road designers are taken abroad to see first hand how to deal with the black spots. Salgaa, Londiani and many other dangerous roads reminds me of kisumu's Mamboleo/Kakamega/miwani interchange that has killed D.O. Misiani the musician amongst thousands of other Kenyans. It is nicknamed Kisumu's salgaa.

In SA there is a dedicated lane when a driver is in distress/mayday at such dangerous points. At the end of it....you are stopped by a mt kilimanjaro of  river sand. Simple innovation but effective. In the US they use several drums filled with water.
