Charcoal is not everywhere- the census data is clear.
It is very costly to transport charcoal from Marigat to Nairobi. You do it at night after bribing chiefs and KFS. Once you are fixed by KFS your vehicle is impounded and bond is set at 300K. Before you get it out of Nakuru Police, you are broke.
This makes charcoal expensive. Thus higher food costs in hotels. Higher energy budgets for households. Poor health for using firewood. These are simple low hanging fruits.
