Only in Kenya. It seems the man has given in to the threats of Gachagua.

Bad idea building a conference centre in the middle of Nairobi. Why not flatten the terminal and expand Uhuru Park? A conference centre would need to be built in another location. The hotels in the vicinty of CBD are not doing well. Nobody wants to stay in the middle of chaos.

Army idiots should have consulted matatus. It was bad idea because that section is already normally a traffic hell. Let them turn it into hawker or parking or even police station or fire station or city council offices.
