Are yiou surprised? Going against multinationals in a country like Kenya is committing suicide. We hang so much on bilateral trade with the UK, EU and the US, that we cannot afford to provoke them. We import from China, but export nothing in return. We export to the Western countries and import less from them. Tourists come from those countries and even Kenyans abroad send most money from these countries. How can we dare touch their companies in the local market? We have to be pragmatic and only chew what we can swallow.

Uniliver was a beast - Ekettera is nothing. Brown Invst of Srilanka is a joke.
I think they cut deal with Ruto to give up some tea estates.
