Can anyone in Houston accompany me?
« on: December 13, 2014, 02:16:10 AM »
I haven't been to Texas and I'm scared to go alone and talk to this and that specialist at MD Anderson. But I have to go because pa happens to have a very rare cancer (wasn't gastric cancer, caught in the middle of a cancer war here in Sydney) about 5 or so peeps in the world have had.

I don't know much about Texas culture, I don't like travelling to foreign places.

Can someone please meet me at MD Anderson? I'm scared to go alone.

You should be fine in Houston.  It's a fairly safe cosmopolitan city.  You almost certainly need a car.  Good luck with your dad.

Thank you Termy.  :)

I can't drive in America ! They drive on the right-hand side. For many reasons I can't be alone. I'm terrified of Texas. I've heard too many horror stories.. like the Texas chainsaw massacre and they wear cowboy hats. I've decided on that basis alone to skip MD Anderson, for Stanford or UCLA San Diego. I spoke to Stanford today.. uber friendly. Somehow I feel safer already. .

Can you meet me at Stanford?

Hehehe...the chainsaw thing is a cliche.  You can find cowboy hats if you look in the right places.  Even in NYC.  Granted, Stanford might be closer to normal for you.  It's off the beaten path for me.
