Agreed!

IG was completely out of order.

That kind of talk is house-keeping stuff that should be kept out of the public.

I am surprised that he has not been called out by politicians and other leaders.

From his remarks, one can infer that he doesn't believe that there is serious issues within the police force that he too may not have control over.

Ruto has to champion the rule of the law - that only surebet way to attract investment like Zambia is doing now - and when police head and interior talk like this they should be reprimanded.
We dont want to give police any excuse - they have enough training to know they can only use the gun very very rarely - if somoene life is at risk.

No one should be surprised at the tone of IG Koome. He was the Nairobi Poice Boss in November 2017 and leading on the ground when NASA convoy on the day Raila had arrived from USA was met in a hail of police bullets on Haile Selassie road as they passed the Railway club Uhuru Park entrance. The bodies of victims were picked up and loaded onto the police lorries. No one for sure knows how many died that day but Citizen TV recorded the whole event and posted on YouTube. Soon after the video was removed.

Quote
olice engaged in running battles with NASA supporters in the better part of Friday, right from JKIA to Nairobi CBD. The opposition supporters pushed their way despite the heavy machinery employed by police to disperse them.

The climax of it all happened near Uhuru Park when police cordoned off the area and fiercely battled the NASA supporters who tried to force their way into the park.

As to who ordered this disproportionate response from the police, your guess is as good as mine. Somebody however got promoted.
