You dont need to be tech do start a fintech; you can hire me; and I can help with technical aspect;
You just need to be business minded person with capital.
Start up is not easy - 90% fail in the first year.
Of all the telcoms - only Safaricom is profitable - Airtel has not made profit in 15yrs - Telkom Kenya last made profit in 1995 :)
For one Equity bank - they gazillion that fails.
So for me - I evaluate - 100k usd job with many benefits - versus startup.
I have done startup - after six years - I burnt out.
Startup you're everything - but definitely rewards if you survive the first 5yrs - are worthy.
I might decide to go back after few years and if I get funding - someone else capital. I dont think I can risk my savings and pensions at this age.
I meant equity not Equitel...

If I was a tech person like you with some little money..I wouldn't waste my time proving how I know everything...I wouldn't invest in those companies...I'd have my own fintech...broker airtime..broker remittances sending...broker online payment...partner with e-commerce sites in Asia etc
