Sakaja won, and I don't mind him. Seems to be a friendly, mellow, down-to-earth fellow with a sober head on his shoulders. I think that's why Nairobians voted for him, most people have no beef with the guy. But there's a very high likelihood of his being challenged at the High Court almost immediately the election is over by some civil society groups. The same that went after Sonko.
The courts might protect his win . . . or hang him. It's no longer easy to predict because the Judiciary has morphed into a radically independent and proud institution since Maraga and his Justices annulled our election 5 years ago. So we'll see what happens in the next couple of months.
