I told yule Mzee; there are committed anti-Raila/Luos gusii at almost 40 percent; same with Kurias; some of it from history with them in Nyanza provinces; some of it cultural (circumscion) - and Matiangi has collapsed;

I dont know why Matiangi has stopped campaigning for Raila; Maybe he is backing Ruto silently. Maybe he sulking that Raila is yet to appoint him to shadow cabinet and has already given his supervision job to Kalonzo.

Arati coming from Nairobi has cause chaos in the usual clan matrices and has relegated Ongwaes and Ongeris to periphery

Gusii will be 40:60 - Ruto: Raila.

Nyamira might even do the 2017 shocker - but I'd go for 40-45 percent Nyamira and 35-40 percent Kisii county;

Arati is really confident. Few politicians change their bases like sonko.

It is very good for a robust county like Kisii. Unless his papers come to bite him, he should deliver.  Or he will end up like Waititu fool.

Arati came at right time; Average age of Gusii politician is 80yrs; Obure; 83; Ongeri 81; Agwenyi 80; very very old Moi era senile politicians who have used clannism to entrench themselves. Arati youth revolution has help steady the dying ODM brand - but until election day - you never know - they could still vote clans. Predicting Gusii politics is very very hard...8 clans all playing different tunes...to produce kamba nane music.

The clan politics  are a mixed bag. In Kisii you see them costing kicking brilliant Charle Nyachae out while in wariah clans rotational politics brings some new faces all the time.

Yes Somali clannism has structures; The clan elders and sheikhs meet; spend few days deliberating; and come up with a list; For Gusii and Luhyas; clans are more like sub-tribes; without any leadership; but big factor in election; clans then sub-clans; play important role; before they look at personality. In our place clans are useless because they are like 200 - people are so intermixed - they really have no role in politics.

With the way Matiangi has gone mute, he must know something. Omanga and Osoro are heavy weights too in Kisii and Nyamira siasa!
