Dominion farm. Update from Gordon Opiyo!
« on: June 03, 2022, 06:44:57 PM »
CONMAN PAR EXCELLENCE
I've received several calls and queries and tags on Dominion Farms.
As someone who stood by Calvin Burgess, when the farm was violently snatched from him, I guess it is proper to give an update on the current status.
Right from 2013, just before the elections (that PM Raila was 100% sure of winning) Calvin started getting emissaries from Raila about taking up shares in the Farm. Raila sent a former Alego MP and a businessman who has a palatial home in the shores of Lake Kanyaboli. Calvin wasn't comfortable with the arrangement and rejected it outright.
However around 2015, when he completed plans to build the largest Sugar Factory in Kenya, and was awarded the license, hell broke lose. Raila openly and violently started the takeover of the farm. Using his agents in Siaya, they had weekly demonstrations demanding "their land back" three MCAs were taken to court over the violent protests that led to the death of three people and hundreds maimed.
This is what led to this press conference, when Calvin threw in the towel after nearly losing his life. He left in 2017 and has never come back.
However, Raila through proxy took over the farm (you can't have expected him to fight soo hard and have someone else take over the farm, could you?)
Just like the Molasses Factory and prime land was initially taken over by proxy, Dominion Farms is following similar pattern.
Under duress and simply exhausted with everything, especially when he realised that President Uhuru was fully behind Raila in his bid to grab the land, Calvin negotiated the sale of the entire investment. KCB bank had valued it at sh 6 billion. But the agents of Raila pushed to buy it at 1 billion. And gave a down payment of 100 million in 2018, and promised to pay 360 million to the retrenched staff and suppliers, and the Balance was to be sent to Calvin, in 6 months. That was in 2018....
A new company was quickly registered. Though it doesn't have the names Raila or any of his relatives, the speed at which the Siaya County approved the deal, and MCAs summoned on a weekend to approve the takeover showed that whoever was behind the deal was not a normal person.
In his usual Conmanship, style, as soon Raila took over the Farm, Raila trashed the agreement. He flatly refused to honor the MoU he had with Calvin.
In other words, he violently took a sh 6 billion investment after paying a paltry 100m.
His greed only allows him to take things for free, lakini hawezi toa pesa zake, even after signing an MoU.
So, the poor people of Alego and Yimbo have not been paid their 360 million in retrenchment packages . And of course Calvin hasn't been paid a cent.
To make matters worse, the National Land Commission helped the Impunity and by initiating a process of turning 10,000 acres of Public Community land into private Freehold land owned by Raila
Of course, you will never read such stories in the compromised media. They would rather focus on Ruto and his land deals, and hide such open, blatant and evil schemes.
Dear confused Kenyans who call this guy "Safi kama pamba and" he fought for democracy..... And such similar sickening terms... . Tell him to pay up. Even if it means paying the 360 million owed to the poor people of Alego and Yimbo. The Kalasinga proxy says the would not pay a penny, and there nowhere he will be taken.
The media can succeed in hiding such evil schemes by Raila, but just like King Ahab and Naboth Vineyard, such dirty deals will be exposed, however hard the Kenyan Media tries to hide them.

You will hear usual choir led by lame media saying that Raila is good! Yet he has impoverished his own people. Opoda farm is community land to build airport. Grabbed. Molasses community raised money and sold cows..grabbed and sold. Now 15,000 acres that had transformed Siaya....grabbed..now a useless swamp...that he will try to sell.

Kenyans are not stupid to have rejected him all these years.

And fate too.

The man is the nearest to idi Amin Dada.

Thankfully every generation has stood and say nope.

Ruto will definitely send him home forever.

Biased media will be broken into smithereens with Ruto win. I see they have already panicked with Ruto withdrawal threat! They need to report land grabbing and massive corruption under Ojinga running for decades!

Lamemedia is part of what Ruto need to dismantle. Airwaves are public. Cannot be monopolized by Mois, Kenyattas, Macharais and Agha Khan. No company should be allowed to own so much of mainstream media.

Quickest way to kill them come next month - blacklist them from getting gov advertising - and support new media.

All politicians want the media to look favorably upon them so they'll always be manipulation of the media (I refuse to believe that Ruto, being the politician that he is, will be very different) - The playing though has been leveled by the internet and mobile phones.

Young kenyans are not watching traditional media (citizens, nationtv anymore) I'm not sure about radio and specifically ethnic radio? especially for people that don't speak English. Is that still something they listen to?

Mainstream media is now stale media because social media is way faster; But it still important for older people; and those not tech savy; That is where ethnic radio come into play. Generally the good thing Kenya is youthful population so maybe of 50M people; assume 30m as adult; about 20m are in some social media; 10M not.

I did a little bit of digging, and it seems Lake Agro Ltd, Raila's proxy, took over the farm and turned it into shit. The poverty in that Siaya community went from red to ruby red after what Mzungu was providing under dominion farm closed shop. The new fake investor (Raila Odinga and his cronies) could not get anything going. The productivity in the almost 10K acre farm produces 1/8 of what Ruto is producing at his 70 acre Sugoi farm. The media need to continue exposing this the same way they did 10-acre muteshi farm
