Just too many bodies doing jack but collecting money.
There is no problem if that 41K was being levied on medium and big corporates
But these regulations applied to SME is a KILLER.
I think what need to happen is to pro-rate all the license and regulation fees based on turnout or business size.
If you business is small - instead of paying 1,000 for something - you pay 200shs.
That way we still keep the regulation and it doesnt kill micro and small business.
Which is bulk of business in any country
This why Ruto bottom up is fresh air - I expect they will relook at these issues - and really make the SME sector the engine of the growth.
I would issue an executive order to all gov regulation to pro-rate their license/fees/permits based on business size.
Let big banks - pay 200K license fee - and small kiosk should pay 100shs.
