It's difficult to really dice and slice the PORK/DPORK/Governor - Ruto as long as he is DPORK is entitled to some benefits - including basic retinue of staff to make his life comfortable and of course security. It's a constitutional right. His is a political office - you really cannot tell when he is politicking or not - campaigning or not - working or not - it's a political office.  If he travels - the guys working under him - employed by gov of kenya - security, media, butlers, personal assistants,  hair dressers - will move with him - and deserve to get paid for out of town travel (per diem) and any other such benefits.

What is against the law is Ministers using state resources to campaigns. That is not a political office. In fact they are suppose to be apolitical - to resign from party positions - and to become civil servants.

But governor or mp or pork - and their deputies - those are public political officials. - and their job description is non-existent - it's basically whatever they want to do because they were elected.

Ruto not working or politicking or campaigning is legal nonsense...even when asleep..he is dprok...he deserves all constitutional benefits until he vacate the office

DP moved out of the house 5 months ago. He only holds meetings there then heads to his better and bigger house in Karen.

Yes it's blurry sometimes.  Which is why I think Kenya should delineate what official government functions are and separate them from private ones.  In the US, it's generally been a norm to avoid utilizing government largesse for campaigns.  POTUS gets to use things like Air Force One to move around(because of security), but he shouldn't use the White House(a norm respected until broken by the orange Mussolini) for electoral politics.

He has few months...its good that uhuru is showing his true colors. I wonder what example uhuru is trying to pass to kenyans, Ruto has voted for Uhuru 4 times but the only chance uhuru has to vote for Ruto he says hell NO and decide to vote for the person who opposed him...classic Githioro wa gurai stuff.

Uhuru should take everything even the security.

For last 3yrs - the newspaper have been carrying full pages of ads of auctions. There are gazillion kikuyu business that have gone down. That is why uhuru is unpopular amongst Kikuyu because he cannot wash Kibaki shoes as far as managing economy. Ruto did well when he was in charge - now it's total chaos.

Which businesses?

Leave the auction thing alone.

(1) Name which businesses which have been bankrupted?

(2) State the total amount of national revenue which has been channeled to development projects in both national and county Govs which drives the private sector over the last 5 years?
