RVHH - tell us about Kibor
« on: March 17, 2022, 10:00:20 PM »
Quite an interesting character,
I remember seeing the 1st time in Kapkatet in 2001 or about in rally Kones had called after getting fired with Nyachae.
Kibor had fallen out with Moi at the same time.
I knew Nyachae and Kones as being fireband but I had never seen or heard of Kibor.
All I heard then was that Kibor was rich wheat farmer and every year he got a brand new mercedes from DT Dobie
He spoke without fear against Moi regime.
Kones - ever jovial and smilling ear to ear - called Moi a black cat that had drunk our milk.
Nyachae all I remember was him shouting Kamama (uncles) - short man but fiery.

I think eventually Kibor cleaned Nyachae of 20 million. That Mzee is big CON. Nyachae tried to sue but wapi.
I suspect he also cleaned Raila in ODM :)
Meanwhile Kones cleaned my village tea tycoon of 17m - took him to Asanyo (then Kanu chair) in Nakuru to buy a land that later became thud.

I remember during the tenure of William Ruto as Minister of Agriculture, Kibor went to Kilimo House and was issued with a permit to import maize. He then left Kilimo House where a maize importer was waiting outside and Kibor sold the import permit for 100M Ksh. I hope nobod believes Mzee Kibor kept the whole profit for himself.

I know little about Mzee other than what I read in the newspapers. For decades, he was anti-Moi and pro-Kibaki on and off in UG, a challenging terrain where Moi was demi-God. Like Barngetuny and old money guys, they bought many properties in Eldoret and owned vast chunks of land, but due to limited masomo, he squandered quite a bit throughout the decades. I remember in the mid-90s, he was the talk of the Eldoret town when he purportedly harvested 200 acres of wheat. On payday, he went to Eldoret and blew it on one weekend. Days later, he was reported advising folks to be wary of light-skinned women wearing miniskirts, especially those from Centro. The lady cleaned him out in one weekend, and I think he decided to turn his life around. I think he started his mens mission after getting taken to the cleaners on and off. Married to doormat Nandi women, he never got a serious challenge and was the king in his household for decades. I see the three living wives talking in unison, praising him and giving him a clean bill of health, sobriety, and family man. Apparently, he was smart enough to divide his thousands of acres and vast property among his 4 wives and tens of children before his demise. After all, I guess he had wisdom, but we have to wait to see if the fights erupt months or years to come.
