I think most folks want COVID to be managed their own way, but policy makers can only use science to guide them. That is where the confusion comes from.

America went down the drain when white nationalists, deplorable, and skinheads realized they could elect a racist president. I have never seen an assault on integrity and truth like it happens in the US. Science and speaking the truth are not popular anymore. To some degree, the whole republican party has been held hostage by one policy (immigration) and maybe voting rights. Most trump folks believe trump won because the minority's votes should not count. They think the white population should be the only ones voting! What a travesty! Gerrymandering and voting laws that have been erected in some states are very unfair to democratic voters, especially minority groups. The rethugs in states they control have systematically deployed cracking and packing tools of gerrymandering to weaken the voting power of minorities. The goal of weakening democrats voting power is to make it easier for Trump to come in and redeploy his denaturalization policy to the max. Republicans are waging a multiprong war on voters through immigration policy at the forefront! On a lighter note, it looks like the more they go radical, the more people want to vote them out. If they recapture both chambers in 2022, unfortunately, it will be hard for Democrats to capture the white house in 2024 even if they win at the ballot.
