Look like he is likely to hand over power to KDF than either Raila or Ruto

Uhuru never stops to amaze me. What is this? When these military guys taste the sweetness of having civilian power, it will be next to impossible to send them back to the barracks. Uhuru has set a very bad precident. I can know see these guys taking over next year in case of another repeatition of the 2007 events.

Very right. Now any small PEV - they will take over. But how will they resolve who to lead and not lead. Uhuru has kikuyu as chief of staff - the rest of army will not like that - and so will kenyans.

So civil war remain the most plausible scenario if PEV was to happen.  Unless the top military generals go into a voting and select their own new head.

The guy leaves the military to head the dept, right???
Whats wrong with that?
Its not like he will be doing both jobs.
He also brings discipline to the dept.

Pundit why is your mind wired PEV all the time like default position? Why not peace? You always think PEV why?

He is retired from the military, Uhuru is not the first president to appoint retired generals to civilian positions, it happens in almost every country in the world including USA. This kind of obsession with politics of power is what destroys countries, the notion that my candidate winning is a matter of life or death. I think we are headed for a coalition government cause I foresee a situation where neither side accepts the outcome of the close election.

Why didn't I speak of civil war in 2013 or 2017 but predicted in 2007.This politics that is dynamics..it depends on the actors and how they will resolve conflicts. I predicted Raila would throw stones for few days in kondele and kibra.I canno use the same template when dealing with Ruto.If Ruto was rigged... they will do the kalenjin way..go to war..there is no scenario that see them accepting an injustice peaceful. All Ruto need to say is I am rigged and supreme court do nothing. Then war starts RV, police fails as they have to deal humanitarian crisis of idps..then army step in..either United unit or break up into tribal units . civil war starts.Dont think Kenya is exceptional...these realities in Ethiopia can happen in Kenya.Like in 2007 kalenjin have bottled a lot as they've seen Uhuru betrayal of their voters and Ruto...while pretending to smile..they are angry..they wil only smile because Ruto need the votes but if they see that Ruto chance are gone..they will rage..you know the enemies they will start with..those they perceive are sitting on their ancestral land. How you use this punditry is up to you.

Uhunye is not exactly dumb. He is busy building bridges with the military.

He hopes they pay in kind when called upon

Reminds me of Don Corleone and Bonasera:
2 Timothy 2:4  No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

I didnt even realize he was retired.
Uniformed civil servants are all the same. He is joining a uniformed service, am not sure why some see it in another way. Unless....

I guess you do not expect him in the other uniform to lead prison wardens into an insurrection and take over the government because that would actually be incredible.

The idea is to show that he cares about them. If he can do this to retirees then he has the interest of the active duty one bla black
