Allegedly Uhuru spent 140m in Kiambaa

I am sure Ruto also spent a lot of money here. This is why our politics is very corrupt and expensive. There is a feedback loop btw corruption and our politics. You need money to win and retain power - and once in power - you first priority is how to make the money.

Well we are making baby steps on Campaign Financing this general election - We shall if parties and candidates will adhere - or how they will circumvent this

How much has Ruto spent in all the trips, harambees and Karen meetings with Mt Kenya leaders? He probably spends 140M weekly on siasa.

If you were to rate Kenyan politics by votes/$ Ruto has the dismallest ROI.

That is not how ROI is calculated; Ruto spend money; But when he get the opportunity; like he did; he recoup; then re-invest; then re-coup more; This is why the dynasties fear him; he has nearly matched them in money game so quickly. Definitely if Ruto become PORK; he will overtake Kenyattas in 2yrs :)

Now Raila has dismall ROI - because the next time you'll hear about PAYBILL NO to finance his politics - meaning he is yet to realize how expensive how elections can be. You're facing a Kenyatta with MPESA paybill :). He has yet to appreciate what it really takes to become PORK...he still hoping for NARC rainbow tsunami every election.

Vote/Dollar assume all votes are equal. There are not. Ask Raila who has been struggling to get 5 percent more. Ruto doesnt have to spend a coin in Kalenjin land for example.

The real battle you may discover is on few votes in swing region. Battles like Kiambaa are critical - because they could set a domino effect. Next election definitely if Uhuru and Ruto do not reconcile - billions will be spent in Mt kenya. Then usual swing regions of coast, western, gusii and such areas.

Dynasties have money, own media houses, and gov machinery. Ruto has managed to survive because he has money. Otherwise if it was paybill manenos - he will be crawling - way before the gov machinery comes down on him.

Normally for example - after party nomination - candidates expect to be given at least 3-5m or even 10m dollars from the party - then maybe senators, governors, etc - basically election is going to be very expensive.

If you to rate Kenyan politics by votes/$ Ruto has the dismallest ROI.
