Fugitive cop Caroline Kangongo found dead at her parents home in Elgeyo Marakwet. She reportedly shot herself after meeting family.

Poor thing. Was she mentally ill - or hypnotised? - what made such a talented cop ruin her life without much help? Cops really need counselling - too many murders and suicides.

Most cops go through shiet. They witnesse macabre murders; and they also murder people. I was in kenyatta hospital last year - and in causalty - the cops were bringing almost dead people or badly injured - mob justice - victims - stabbed wounds - name it. You cannot become normal. Most cops resort to drinking heavily. Then they also start killing people, beating people. My cop friend called me recently to tell about body they had to collect in Muranga - what killers had done to that body he had never witnesses -so they go through a lot.

They become dehumanized.

And there is probably no counselling. It not the US where a cops who kill - takes a few days - go for counselling.

Yes the only payoff is bribes. She just snapped and started shooting. Considering how marines suffer PTSD after few years in Iraq - lots of veteran suicides - I imagine Kenyan cops need all the help. Worse Kangogo family will not get anything from GoK with her sad story.
