Last year, President Uhuru Kenyatta changed federal policy to ensure the quicker construction of Northlands City, a $5 billion mixed-use development project privately owned by his own family.

Great writing skills.
Seems even Tatu City headwinds are connected to Northlands.

What makes a city? Where has mwafrika succeeded in creating a city away from colonial outposts?

Why are people moving in to Nairobi Metropolitan day in day out despite the poor habitability ratings? It must be concentration of services such as water, sewerage, health and infrastructure - roads. Nairobi only lacks in education infrastructure.

Apart from consultants, the government officials also are nowhere to take responsibility once such projects fail.

You just blah blah Sillicon Valley without understanding it has been in the making for decades and 'data' is just a small  piece of the jigsaw.

Yes Kenyattas are unhappy because the Russians and Shahs have nailed Tatu. Shahs bring bahindis - and the russians are nasty as always - seem even Kabogo who got a bribe in land - has found himself being outplayed.

Anyway Tatu city is a sucess - I already bought two units there. The Russian-Bahindi combination cannot be intimidated by Kenya political class.

As for Northland - Kenyattas sold land to South Africans - for industrial compoment - but I dont see it flying.

Obviously as retirement activity - I think Uhuru will probably spend time building it.

Great writing skills.
