As we saw in 90s .RV peoples corruption unlike GEMAs whose corruption is doing business with Government or getting hold of GOVT Parastatals or entities and turning them around RVs peoples corruption is going straigt to the purse or coffers and taking the money to their pockets.
Ruto is very serious and clever politician as you can see now he is surrounded by mostly Mt Kenya advisors expect his first term to put well established expatriates in vital Govt agencies. Treasury and CBK is where it should be kept out of bounds for the RV people. A lot of whistle blowing should also do and ODM as the official opposition should play its role . If Ruto people attempt to be corrupt during his first term then he will be penalised 5 years later.
Just like Kibaki after Moi , Ruto will be imheriting a cash strippen Govt and with alot expectations his focus will be work work work.
As a well branded corruption head. It would be foolish for him to endown it especially in his first term.
Usually corruption thrives in a regime change government like Kibakis to Uhurus where insiders continue holding Govt positions and powerful positions. In a change over lile what happened in Moi Kibaki .It will take time due to fear and learning the ropes. Kenyattas 2md regime have taken their whole time fighting Ruto and Most of them will be kicked outside Govt come 2022.
There will be finger pointing of who was corrupt and who is corrupt. The noise helps slow down corruption.
Since its crystal clear now Ruto will be president. The main problem we have is how he will tackle corruption bearing in mind most of his bigwigs are in big time magendo. Ruto himself has failed to clear his standing on corruption and never says how he will fight it. This is too worrying how will he stop rampant corruption especially from a new kalenjin class consisting of pundit and sudi, while GEMA Corruption is mainly progressive as money stolen ends up forming new companies and creating employment Kalenjin corruption money ends up abroad and buying mipango ya kandos and other wasteful ways. How do we deal with corruption then?
