Tues 9th August 2022, Election Day
BBI is nonsense to me and if it comes to casting my vote at the referendum, I will vote NO. But I want to say this:While y'all reduce this to some armchair contest between Robina and Pundit and how somehow a Judiciary that now has a bottom-of-the-class as the new CJ will stand in the way of the machinations of a rogue executive, I am surprised none on this forum has seen the real significance of today's vote. The vote was won by 2/3 majority. Tafakari! Reduced to a paltry 83 MPs to count on in parliament, gives ideas to the other side. WSR precariously is now vulnerable to being removed from the office of the DP by a parliamentary vote of no confidence. And on that Judiciary will not stop such business of the house going ahead if it were on the order paper. Luto is about to be released to his UDA where he can campaign freely for 2022.Quote from: Robina on May 07, 2021, 03:58:19 PMDesperation kweli. Judges rule on law and evidence not feelings of annoyance. There is nothing illegal about BBI - Aukot already ran to court with same nonsense. Those cases just make it easier to delay it to Aug 2022. naturally this latest vote further exposes Ruto's "150 MPs" imaginary support . And no, Uhuru has no leeway to declare some clauses as law, that is just the usual cheap spin and desperation. Popular initiave, donge? But let's wait for few days and see.Quote from: RV Pundit on May 07, 2021, 10:26:34 AMPrecisely. But judiciary will block this. The judiciary are mad with him for blocking 42 judges hiring and promotion - leave alone the ombusdman.

BBI is Raila manifesto. It will be Raila Yes vs No Ruto. That is why Ruto's "formlessness" is laughable. If it is costing him votes in parliament how will it work with simpleton Wanjiku or Khadija.https://www.the-star.co.ke/news/2021-05-08-ruto-flip-flop-on-bbi-causes-troops-to-fire-in-different-directions/Quote from: audacityofhope on May 08, 2021, 03:42:31 AMBBI is nonsense to me and if it comes to casting my vote at the referendum, I will vote NO. But it still a long way to referendum..why would you want Ruto to assume NO. He might even go YES - get Moi's IMPERIAL PRESIDENCY - run over judiciary and parliament - and then you will cry here daily like in Moi era.The same nonsense we saw in 2010 - KATIBA NI SASA HIVI- by 2013 - OKOA KENYA Now you want to have imperial president who have ombudsman appointed with senators to oversee judges killing judicial indepedence; The president to appoint MPs to cabinet - killing parliamentary oversight role.Basically return to Moi's old constitution. And you're all CHEERING - see few goodies.
Hybrid, 35%, 2/3 gender, etc - is what Kenyans asked for in Bomas and CoE Drafts. Don't cry their tears.Judiciary you been singing for long and got it wrong every time. Governor suspended, Jomo potrait on notes, Maraga advisory, Aukot-Moraa BBI case, etc. Nothing has changed.
